Bear Valley hold their third rail jam contest April 10. The park was setup just in front of the Sun room. It was composed of one hand rail, one canon box, one C box and one tap tank.
Benoit Rouchy won the snowboard under 15 category. He was the defending champion. He was challenged by Moke Taylor who won the best trick of the day with a 360 nose tap.
James Young won the ski under 15 category. Sean Finnegan won the ski 16 and above.
Thomas Costa won the snowboard 16 and above. Kevin Warren the defending champion decided to judge the contest this year.
Jessica Lawrence won the women snowboard category.

Bear Valley April Pow Pow
Bear Valley has received a few feet of snow during the first week of April. On Tuesday, the Grizzly (aka Lower Mountain) opened just after the storm with more than one foot of untracked powder.
Lucas and Benoit Rouchy, the last winners of the BV Village Jib Jam, showed their skills with a very different type of terrain.

Bear Valley Village Jib Jam Contest
Bear Valley Village Jib Jam first every contest was organized by Mike Schimke. The competitors were asked to do the tricks called by the judges (Tyler Skivington). And like the game of skate, the skiers and snowboarders will get a letter called when the trick was not executed correctly. Once they have collected the 3 letters Jib, they were eliminated.
Check the uninvited dog collecting 2 letters.
Music by the Vampire Weekend, song A-punk.
They had running a few categories, ski under 12, ski above 18, snowboard under 18 and above.
