Bear Valley Back Flip Session

Matt Geenlee, Corey Sciotto, James Young and Shamus have step up their game with this back flip session on Blue Jay (Bear Valley). A fairly steep kicker was built the day before that video was shot. You'll see Matt, Corey, James and Shamus (snowboard) landing their first ever back flip (barrel roll).
The video also feature a "Bail" sequence with the 1 and 1/2 flip from Corey, the not quite a flip by James, 360 attempt by Lucas (7 years) and Benoit big air crash...

Castle Rock Bouldering - Asian Invasion V7

Asian Invasion route was featured in Mike's video. The short route has a manteling crux from slopers.

Kevin Smith and Zach, 2 strong climbers from Santa Cruz, joined me during this early morning session.

Zach climbed the high ball arete which looks like a shark. Checked him being swallowed by the shark.

Castle Rock - Klinghoffer Boulders

The Santa Cruz climbing crew (Brian Wilkerson, Riddle, Adam Alsabery and myself) got together for a fun afternoon of bouldering at Castle Rock.

We warmed at Nature Nazi on "The Naked Arete" and "Teaches O Beaches" and quickly moved to the Klinghoffer boulders. We climbed some juggy overhanging arete, the classic V5 traverse and ran laps on the classic of the classic "Right Hand Man".

Santa Cruz West Cliff Surfing

Santa Cruz received a huge swell on Saturday November 07. Those pictures were taken just a block where we live on West Cliff.

This dude got inside the sickest barrel of the day and managed to get out, amazing.

Big Sur Bouldering - Partington Cove

Partington Cove can be found about 2 hours drive south from Santa Cruz. It is also called "little Yosemite" because the granite quality almost match the one from Camp 4.

The timing could not be better since Castle Rock is still too warm, buggy and crowded.

Brian Wilkerson, Rob Morris and myself climbed some of the moderate climbs, some being as tall as 15 feet. Make sure that you bring a bunch of pads when you visit that area.

The French Connection - Castle Rock Bouldering 2009

Cyril, Thibaut and I share the same experience climbing at Fontainbleau.
Thibaut, who has been visiting Cyril for a couple of weeks, wanted to check some of the Castle Rock bouldering classic.
They warmed up on the Slope and the Slap and quickly sent Hueco Wall with very original beta.
They tried Ecoterrorist but without success, the condition being less than perfect...
We finished up with Duct Tape, which I clearly remember, is quite hard for shorter people.

Antony, Jordan and Kyle at the Bike Park - Santa Cruz

We have been at the new Bicycle Trip Bike park a hand full of time now. One of the biker thought that Lucas and Benoit were brothers with Matt Davies the pro scooter rider. Not quite but may be some days, they'll do some of its tricks.

Riley and Tyler Scootering Derby Park

Tobie, Lance, Riley and Tyler visited us a couple a week ago. Tyler and Benoit belong to the snowboarding Bear Valley DEVO team.
On Saturday, we spent some time at the local skate park Derby. Too bad, on Sunday, Tyler broke his hand falling of the scooter, so they ended up at the local hospital. The timing could have been better just a couple of days before the end of school.

Benoit and his nice new pant.

Bike works too.

Benoit Scootering at the Marina

The Marina skate park was once again closed because of graffiti. It was not enough to stop Benoit, who crossed the street to the baseball field where he jumped some stairs.

Scotts Creek Surfing - Santa Cruz

A few weeks ago, we visited Scotts Creek as Santa Cruz. Only a handful of surfers were on the water. May be one day, Benoit and I, will be strong enough to surf there, but meantime, we ended up at Cowell beach, with the beginners.
